The Galapagos Islands. They’re off the coast of Ecuador, they’re the islands toured by Charles Darwin, and they are like no other place in the world. We went to the Galapagos Islands expecting to have nice weather, to experience an exotic and South American feel, and to see creatures of all kinds. And we weren't disappointed. What a place!
We did a photo expedition with Lindblad Expeditions, on their ship named Polaris. Lindblad has been going there for years, and they’re a first class act. From the moment we arrived until our departure-----all was well organized, informative, interesting, and great fun. And the food was scrumptious. Everyone especially loved the Ecuadorian meal, of which the staff was very proud (and rightly so). A good time was certainly had by all!
The best reason to visit the Galapagos Islands is to see the animals!!! - the sea lions, the tortoises, the sea turtles, the many species and subspecies of birds, the lava lizards, the iguanas. The list could go on and on. Nowhere else have we ever been so close to so many incredible creatures.
